DM declares anti Tibetan movement illegal

ITANAGAR, Oct 9: District Magistrate (DM), Capital Complex, in an order declared illegal the mass movement proposed by the Students United Movement of All Arunachal (SUMAA) on October 10 within Itanagar-Capital Complex, wherein the student organization is supposed to check documents of private citizens and evict the people of Tibetan origin in protest against the Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy.
Any official documents cannot be checked by any private individual without authority, the DM said, and termed the SUMAA’s proposed act of checking documents as illegal.
The government had invited SUMAA for talks on the issue and assured that the views of all stakeholders would be considered and taken care of as and when the policy of the Tibetan Rehabilitation is drafted.
Unfortunately, the SUMAA refused the offer of the government and decided to go ahead with its “illegal” rally, the DM added. (DIPRO)
