KHONSA, Oct 15: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Tirap has organized a day long programme on “Rashtriya Mahila Kisan Diwas” on Sunday at KVK premises.
Senior Scientist & Head of the KVK, Tirap Dr. Indu highlighted on important aspects like nutrition security, women empowerment and role of women in agriculture.
A debate was conducted on Fast Food vs Indian Traditional food among the participants to create awareness about importance of traditional foods and to diminish the increasing tendency towards fast food.
A quiz competition was also organized among participants to assess their knowledge about basic agriculture, food & nutrition, cleanliness, health &hygiene etc.
Some of the best performers among women farmers were awarded by KVK, Tirap. A total number of 25 women farmers attended the program.
