ITANAGAR, Oct 20: The Tourism Department on Friday organized an event to showcase the rich cuisines of Arunachal Pradesh at State Food Craft Institute, Itanagar as part of the month-long Paryatan Parv (Tourism Festival).
Dishes from different tribes were displayed.
The event was attended by Parliamentary Secretary PD Sona and officials of tourism department.
Other than the local women, trainees from “Hunar Se Rojgar Tak” also participated in it.
Sona highlighted the importance of local tribal cuisines in promoting tourism.
Secretary (Tourism) Dr. Joram Beda stressed on working on promotion of tribal cuisines so that it can be served even in reputed hotels.
The Department will be organising Children Tourism Festival on October 22 at Science Centre,IG Park as part of the on going Paryatan Parv.
