KHONSA, Oct 24: The Prime Minister’s Ujala Scheme was formally launched in Tirap district by Khonsa East MLA cum APSMPB Chairman Wanglam Sawin in presence of government officers and public leaders at the Mini Secretariat of Khonsa on Tuesday.
Launching the scheme, Sawin urged the district administration, HoDs and Panchayat leaders to spread awareness about the benefits of using energy efficient appliances. He appealed to all the power consumers of the district to avail the subsidy provided by the government under the PM’s Ujala scheme.
Speaking on the occasion, Tirap Deputy Commissioner, P N Thungon appealed to one and all to spread awareness on energy saving in their respective areas.
Earlier in her address, Project Officer in-charge, engineer Y Ronya highlighted the benefits of using energy efficient appliances. She regretted the delay in launching of PM’s Ujala Scheme in Tirap district due to non-receipt of appliances on time.
The launch programme was attended by ADC Khonsa, ZPC Suntung Bangsia, PRIs members, HoDs of various departments, public leaders and staff of APEDA Khonsa. (DIPRO)
