DLSAs organize legal awareness camps at Yingkiong and Seppa

ITANAGAR, Oct 28: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in Upper Siang and East Kameng districts organized two separate programmes at Seppa and Yingkiong to spread legal awareness among public and students.
At Yingkiong, Judicial Magistrate (First Class) and DLSA Secretary Mary Kamsi, advocates Tapang Tabing, Kabang Taron and Oyem Panyang made the public aware about various legal aid and services offered by the Legal Service Authority.
They educated the public about women’s rights, POCSO Act, Consumer Protection Act, Juvenile Justice Board and Arunachal Pradesh Victim Compensation Scheme, 2011.
Legal brochures were also distributed among the participants.
A similar awareness programme was also held by East Kameng DLSA at Government Higher Secondary School, Bebo Colony
Member Secretary (DLSA) Komjum Tasso delivered a speech on free legal aid under Legal Services Authority and Arunachal Victim Compensation Act, while Advocate Bimon Sonam spoke laws pertaining to juveniles, narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
Advocate Raka Singhi spoke on laws relating to prohibition of determination of pre-natal sex selection and the procedures of filing FIR.
More than 100 students of the school participated in the programme.
