ITANAGAR, Oct 29: A cultural troupe from Uttar Pradesh is slated to perform the famous Braj Holi during Basar Confluence (BasCon 2) which is being organised by Gumin Rego Kilaju (GRK) in the confluence of Kidi and Hei rivers at Basar in Lower Siang district on November 4 and 5.
The UP cultural team headed by Dr Seema Morwal is visiting Basar under Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat (EBSB) programme and it shall be showcasing the traditional folk dances of Uttar Pradesh’s Braj region. The team shall also be visiting various villages of Basar like Gori, Soi, Nyigam, Bam and Nyodu.
The EBSB programme has been launched by the Government of India with the broad objectives of celebrating unity in diversity of the nation and to promote the spirit of national integration through deep and structured engagement between all the states and union territories.
In this regard, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed by the governments of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Uttar Pradesh under the EBSB on October 5 at Lucknow.
Under EBSB, students of Rajiv Gandhi University will be visiting Uttar Pradesh and vice versa as part of a student exchange programme.
Also, cultural troupes and artisans from Arunachal would be performing during Lucknow Mahotsava, Ganga Mahotsava and Taj Mahotsava. The NCC and NSS volunteers would also be actively involved in the various adventure programmes under EBSB.
