USIYF intensifies movement demanding repair of Itanagar-Jote road

ITANAGAR, Oct 29: The ‘Rasta Roko’ movement started by the United Sangdupota Intellectual Youth Forum (USIYF) demanding immediate repairing of Itanagar to Jote road on Sunday entered its sixth day.
The members of the Forum stopped heavy vehicle from plying in the said road as the already dilapidated Itanagar-Jote road is reportedly worsening due to plying of heavy vehicles.
USIYF Chairman Teli Tadap Camdir said that the people of Sangdupota are suffering a lot due to poor condition of the road.
“We have been appealing to the PWD Doimukh to repair the Itanagar to Jote road but nothing has changed at ground. This is deeply frustrating and is making us very angry. We have been told that tender process for repairing of the said stretch of road started six month ago, but why is it taking so long. The PWD is testing the patience of the people of Sandgdupota circle,” added the USIYF Chairman.
Recently, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) also came down heavily on the state government for not repairing the Itanagar to Jote road. The permanent campus of NIT is also coming up at Jote.
