DOLLUNGMUKH, Nov 2: Lower Subansiri District Family Welfare Officer DFWO cum CEO, District Health Society, Dr Derin Likar said that ASHAs are the backbone of healthcare facilities at rural areas and stressed on them to keep a hygienic environment and engage in all the national and state health programmes.
He was addressing the valedictory programme of a three-day long ASHA Training on Module-VI & VII (HBNC Refresher Training), which was conducted by the District Health Society of Ziro, in collaboration with NN Charitable Society (NNCS), Doimukh at PHC Dollungmukh on Thursday.
Dr Derin also explained ways to avail the various facilities and schemes provided by the state and central government, like JSY, JSSK, etc.
The training was aimed at imparting training to ASHAs for home base new born care, ANC eligible couple, nutrition of mother and child (how to become healthy after and before delivery), examination of baby and checking for sepsis, breast feeding, etc.
Tage Opo (DCM), Hage Riku Atto (BCM) and district trainers, namely Dusu Sunya (GNM) and Michi Aku (GNM) and Dr Tina Devi, MO- PHC Dollungmukh were the resource persons on the occasion.
