NABARD conducts training on ‘Sustainable Rural Livelihood’

ITANAGAR, Nov 2: A three-day long on-location training programme on ‘Sustainable Rural Livelihood’ was conducted by Bankers Institute of Rural Development (BIRD), Lucknow which was established in 1983 by NABARD, for branch managers and senior officers of Arunachal Pradesh State Cooperative Apex Bank here from October 30 to November 1 last.
The programme covered contents on Sustainable Livelihood Approach; Livelihood Promotion Models; Institutions and Innovations Promoting Peoples’ Institutions for Livelihood; Objectives, Approaches and Key Features of NRLM; Concept & approaches of Producers’ Organizations, loan appraisal concept & techniques, etc.
A field visit to some livelihood units of handicraft, dairy and poultry units in Papum Pare district was also undertaken.
The valedictory session was attended by NABARD GM, Dr Gyanendra Mani, Joint RCS, R D Thungon, Administrator, Habung Lampung, Managing Director of Apex Bank, Tshering Thongdok and NABARD AGM, G Karmakar.
