NAHARLAGUN, Nov 4: The Michi Welfare Society, Itanagar (MWSI) celebrated its silver jubilee at Dree Ground here on Saturday in a befitting manner.
Attending the programme, senior citizens Michi Tagia and Michi Shalla spoke on the need to preserve indigenous traditional values and culture. They also urged the younger generation to carry forward the legacy of their forefathers.
Makers of the documentary film “Exploration of Michi”, meritorious students, cinematographer Solomon Sangchoju and MWS Ziro were also felicitated on the occasion.
An audio album by Michi Challo, with singers Rerik Karlo and Padi Tada was also released.
Various cultural programmes and games and sports competitions marked the occasion.
MWSI Chairman Michi Kani and Vice Chairman Michi Chobin also addressed the gathering, while Secretary Michi Chalo presented report on activities of the NGO.
