Dhawan seek support from citizens as DA launches door to door garbage collection

Itanagar, Nov 9: The Capital Complex district administration has launched door to door garbage and civic charge collections for which a mass awareness campaign was organised on Thursday in Ward No. 2 at Gohpur Tinali Market. The Deputy Commissioner Capital Complex Prince Dhawan addressing the gathering called everyone a stakeholder and sought their cooperation in making the door to door garbage collection a success
He further stressed that the success of the door to door collection depends entirely upon the stakeholders and the plan has been developed keeping in mind the requirement of each area. Unless and until we start from our own home, we cannot bring change, the DC said. The DC informed that each ward has been divided into various zones, and labourers have been detailed at each zone for the collection of garbage.
He also informed that Circle Officers, Municipal Engineers and NGOs/SHGs were assigned each ward to do a complete survey of number of households in each ward and to prepare the route map. On that basis route plan has been prepared and labourers have been engaged as per the requirement of the area.
For the success of the door to door garbage collection, labours have been detailed as per the requirement of the area and garbage collection points have been notified in each ward. Van routes have been made where the vans would come at fixed time and Drivers have been entrusted.
He further informed that biometric device would be distributed soon and requested the councillor to ensure that the biometric attendance is taken every day so as to ensure that the work is done. He further requested the residents of the area to keep track of their work and to immediately inform him or the concerned Councillor if the garbage pickers don’t arrive. He further informed that those who are caught throwing garbage here and there or those who don’t give timely garbage to the concerned NGO or garbage van would be challaned a sum of Rs. 5000 as fine.
Earlier, Councillor Tatung Tania lauded the effort of the DC in turning the vision of door to door garbage collection into a reality. He also thanked the DC for his consistent effort in making Capital Complex clean. He also sought the cooperation of the people in making it successful.
AE, IMC Chokpu Raju lauded the DC through whose effort pick up vehicles have been provided at each ward. He also requested the denizens of Capital Complex to cooperate with the District Administration and the IMC in bringing Capital Complex in the list of top 5 cleanest cities in the country.
During the programme, 36 numbers of dustbins were also distributed.
