AAPSU appeals Govt to reconsider engineering wings

ITANAGAR, Nov 15: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has urged the state Govt to reconsider its purported decision to wind up engineering wings of various non-work departments.
Informing that more than 400 plus technical and non-technical employees are working under central flagship programmes on contractual basis, the AAPSU said winding up of engineering wings will render them jobless.
It further said that due to lack of proper monitoring of the projects by technical persons from parent departments, either the cost of the project being executed by works department has escalated or the project completed without satisfaction of the client department.
Earlier an AAPSU delegation led by its General Secretary, Tobom Dai called on Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Wednesday and apprised him regarding the purported winding up of engineering wings in non-work departments. AAPSU informed that Mein has assured them to look into the matter and work out for the interest of the indigenous people.
