DAPORIJO, Nov 15: Tagin Cultural Society, All Tagin Youth Organization and All Tagin Students Union have placed a single-point memorandum before Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and Chief Minister Pema Khandu during their recent visit to Daporijo demanding creation of the new Sinyik district bifurcating Upper Subansiri for administrative convenience.
The memorandum highlighted the numerous problems faced by the people from far flung areas, especially Taksing, Nacho, Siyum in reaching district headquarters Daporijo.
They said that road connectivity with upper belt of the district from the district headquarters remains cut off during entire monsoon period causing great problem to the people living in those areas.
It not only causes great problem to the public but also causes immense inconvenience to the administration to carry out public welfare activities, the memorandum said.
Further, if the district is created, there will be an improvement in road connectivity in the remote area bordering China facilitating easy movement of defence personnel and artilleries, the memorandum said.
Meanwhile, TCS vice president TG Baki informed that the demand has been put under consideration and placed before the Chief Secretary to examine the merits.
