KOHIMA, Nov 21: An NSCN(R) cadre, identified as Tikkam Mossang was apprehended with a pistol and live ammunition by security forces early Tuesday morning.
Mossang, the self styled Lieutenant and Area Commander of Miao, was apprehended from Miao during an operation carried out by the Jairampur Battalion of the Assam Rifles, according to an army release.
Rs 20,000 extortion money and other incriminating evidences were also seized from the cadre,
who had been allegedly trying to terrorize and extort money in Miao town, a defence release said.
He joined NSCN (IM) in 2003 and defected to NSCN (R) in 2008 and had been active part of the banned outfit since then, the release said.
