RUKSIN, Nov 23: In a bid to promote adventure tourism in Siang Valley and promote brotherhood with the people of Arunachal Pradesh, the Royal Rider Club of Jonai, in association with Jonai sub-division administration and East Siang district is organizing a three-day cycling tour covering a distance of 55 km and vice-versa from November 25 next.
The cycling team will start from Jonai headquarter and proceed to Bodak in East Siang via Ruksin, Oyan, Rani and Pasighat along the National Highway-15.
The 30-member team will camp at Bodak and Apocaland on the bank of the Siang River.
The tour team will begin their journey back to Jonai on November 27 and reach Pobang Chapori at the heart of Lali River, adjacent to the Poba Reserve Forest at the Assam-Arunachal boundary.
The organizers said that their aim is to promote an eco-friendly tour by inviting tourists for an exotic ride along the foothill plains of Siang valley to the rising base of the eastern Himalayas.
‘Besides promotion of adventure tourism, we also aim to raise awareness against drug abuse and encourage youths to adopt games and sports activities’, said the organizers.
