The capital complex MLA Techi Kaso on Wednesday raised concern over delay in execution of Itanagar to Banderdewa 4 lane road project. He has raised concern at an appropriate time. Winter is the peak working season and by slowing down the work, contractor and PWD Highway is wasting valuable time. The capital administration should constantly monitor the progress of work and also check the work quality. Itanagar is the gateway to the state and therefore it deserves world class road. The 4 lane project has been sanctioned after much delay. The denizens of capital have waited long enough for the work to start.
Therefore it is the duty of capital administration and PWD Highway to make sure that 4 lane road project finishes on time and quality work is done. The progress of other major road projects especially that of Trans Arunachal Highway (TAH) is also extremely poor. Majority of work under TAH has not been completed so far. In some stretches the work has not been started till date even though tender process has already been completed long time ago. The state government has miserably failed to fast-track the TAH project. Once completed, the Trans Arunachal Highway will completely change the face of the state. Besides improving intra-state connectivity, it will boost the economic activity and provide better access to the farmers to sell their items in the bigger market. State government should put more effort to speed up the Trans Arunachal Highway project in the interest of the people of Arunachal.
