ITANAGAR, Nov 25: Kendriya Vidyalaya No-II, Chimpu observed Grandparents Day in a befitting manner at its school campus on Saturday.
Addressing the students and grandparents, KV-II Principal G D Mena said that such programmes bring the community people and the school closer. The grandchildren will know many things of the past which they may never learn from the teachers at school and parents at home, Mena said.
Saying that ‘charity begins at home’, he appealed to the grandparents to impart moral teaching to the children, like proper behaviour with family members and elders.
Vice Principal Dr B Saha, other teachers and few grandparents also spoke on the occasion.
The day-long programme included cultural programme, fancy dress competition and discussion on pollution control, cleanliness and traffic rules to ensure safety for grandparents and small children.
