AALO, Nov 25: Silver jubilee year celebration of the Arunachal Vikas Parishad (AVP) began at Gumin Kiin at Aalo on Friday last, with participation of various karyakartas, believers of Donyi Polo faith and representatives of various Gamgis.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commanding Officer 17 Garwal Rifle, Bogdo Battalion lauded the AVP for rendering yeomen services to the people of the state for the last 25 years in promoting the traditional faith and culture of the indigenous people.
He exhorted the people and parishad to infuse the values in young children so that they too take pride in their culture in their formative years.
State AVP in-charge, Nibaran Mahata informed that the Parishad, besides promoting indigenous faith and culture, is concentrating on spotting rural sports talents in its affiliation with SAI.
AVP Joint Secretary, Gomar Angu, Siru Rijo Tea Estate Director, Yayum Boje Gangkak, chief patron of AVP, Doi Ado and district unit President, T Mibang also lauded the efforts of the AVP. (DIPRO)
