AALO, Dec 9: Reacting to the Galo Indigenous Faith and Cultural Council’s (GIFCC) statement opposing the creation of the Department of Indigenous Affairs (DIA), the Central Donyi Polo Kargu Gamgi Council (CDPKGC) here in West Siang district on Saturday termed the opposition ‘unreasonable.’
In a press release, the CDPKGC claimed that the GIFCC issued the statement without seeking consensus among the Galo community.
‘Before delivering such misleading statement, a unanimous decision must be drawn first from various fronts of the Galo people,’ it stated, adding that it welcomes the creation of the DIA, which has been created to preserve and promote the state’s age-old tribal traditions and culture.
