Training on dairy farming concludes

NIRJULI, Dec 9: Eighteen farmers from the North East Multipurpose Development Society benefited from a five-day training programme on various aspects of commercial dairy farming, held at the Central Cattle Breeding Farm here recently.
Organised under the National Livestock Mission and the Dairy Entrepreneurs Development Scheme, the training programme concluded on Saturday. It featured lectures on selection of site, models of buildings, procurement of cattle, importance of breeding, feeding, etc.
SVO Dr Taking Gammi explained about artificial insemination, practical milking, feeding of the adult cow and calves, and such.
Nirjuli-based Central Cattle Breeding Farm’s Manager Dr Ojuli Moyong, Animal Husbandry & Dairy Development Director Dr ND Minto, and Joint Director of Composite Livestock Farms, Dr SL Dirkhipa also attended the programme.
