DISPUR, Dec 10: Arunachal’s young weightlifters added five more medals to their overnight tally of two on the second day of the 63rd National School Games Weightlifting being held here in Assam.
While Dambi Umpe and Ruba Tadu clinched a gold medal each in the boys’ section, Liza Kamsha bagged a gold medal in the girls’ section.
Dambi clinched the yellow metal by lifting a total of 226 kgs. He managed to lift 101 kgs in snatch and 125 kgs in clean & jerk.
Ruba lifted 103 kgs in snatch and 132 in clean & jerk for a total lift of 235 kgs in the boys’ 69 kg category to clinch the gold medal.
Liza Kamsha lifted 60 kgs in snatch and 81 kgs in clean & jerk to finish on a total of 141 kgs in the girls’ 69 kg category.
One bronze medal each was won by Posen Kongkangand Boni Mangkya in the girls’ 58 kg category.
Posen lifted 56 kgs in snatch and 70 kgs in clean & jerk for a total 126 kgs.
Boni lifted a total of 139 kgs (snatch – 58 + clean & jerk – 81 kgs).
On Friday, Arunachalee weightlifters had won one silver and one bronze medal.
