CHANGLANG, Dec 11: Altogether 1349 registered workers received LED TVs, while a worker received a beneficiary cheque during an awareness camp organized here on Monday.
Addressing the participants, DoTCL Parliamentary Secretary Tesam Pongte appealed to those who are yet to register their names with the APB&OCWWB to do so in order to avail benefits provided by the Board.
Pongte also urged the works departments to deposit labour cess on time.
Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs Parliamentary Secretary, Laisam Simai, urged labourers to observe work culture, and briefed them on the statutory and non-statutory benefits provided by the Board to registered labourers.
Hydropower Parliamentary Secretary Phosum Khimhun described the labourers as “the most important force for socioeconomic development of the area,” and gave assurance that he would take their grievances to the state government.
