ITANAGAR, Dec 18: The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women-cum-Protection of Child Rights (APSCW-cum-APSCPCR) has appealed for help to trace out the legal guardian of a boy named Nimulya Kaling, aged about 10 years.
The child is currently staying at the Oju Welfare Association (OWA) at the request of the Commission till his legal guardian has been traced out, APSCW Chairperson Mitali Tingkhatra informed.
The names of the parents are said to be Adya Kaling and Santisubha Kaling. The child gave his address as Salemar Gaon located near Kharsang in Changlang district.
The Commission wrote a letter to the Changlang Superintendent of Police, urging him to trace out the legal guardian(s) of the child. However, it was informed that there is no place named Salemar Gaon near Kharsang circle.
Later, the Commission found out that the village is in Sonitpur district of Assam, after which it wrote a letter to its Assam counterpart to trace out the parents.
Unfortunately, no information has been received yet and the child is still at the shelter home.
The child was handed over to the Commission by the Dibrugarh (Assam)-based District Child Protection Unit (Depu) on 4 August.
