ROING, Dec 18: The Roing unit of the All Arunachal Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers’ Association (AASSATA) is in turmoil over the alleged illegal regularisation of some TGTs and PRTs that took place recently.
According to the ASSATA, five teachers from the district have been regularised illegally – four TGTs who rank 9, 10, 15 and 22 in the seniority list, and 1 PRT who ranks 1 in the PRT list.
They have claimed that the regularisation has been done without following the norms and without following the seniority list of the SSA/APTET/CTET qualified teachers.
The affected teachers have claimed that the approved seniority list, which has to be followed for regularisation, has been completely neglected and appointment into regular teaching service has been given to teachers ‘randomly’ selected.
As per their information, the regularisation did not come so easily as the ‘randomly’ selected candidates have had to pay about Rs 6-7 lakh rupees for the favour.
“If the recruitment of teachers is done in this way then how will there be quality education? The lives of our young generation are at stake and our tomorrow is darker than we cannot even imagine,” said an irate teacher, adding that corruption should not be allowed to prevail, especially in the Education department.
The agitated members of the ASSATA said that they will fight for their right and will knock every door possible for justice. They said that they will soon put forward their representation to the chief secretary and Education secretary.
A total of 135 serving SSA/APTET/CTET teachers were regularised in the process.
