DyCM calls for shifting zonal offices to designated HQs

ITANAGAR, Dec 21: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein has stressed on shifting the zonal offices of the chief engineers of various work departments under the eastern division to their designated headquarters within December this year.
Mein reiterated this during a meeting with the chief engineers of all the departments under the eastern zone on Thursday evening, and committed to the decision to make the divisional commissioners of East and West functional from their respective headquarters.
The government has already issued directives to all the chief engineers in consonance with the two rounds of meeting held by the Group of Ministers earlier under the chair of the deputy chief minister, wherein it was decided that they should be shifted to their designated headquarters at Namsai, Miao, Tezu, and Pasighat.
Mein said that the fund required for infrastructure development for the zonal offices and residential quarters would be made available in phases, and asked them to shift their offices immediately with bare minimum facilities in the initial stage.
“There will be some difficulties in the initial stage, but we have to face it,” he said.
PWD Commissioner Bilatee Pertin was also present at the meeting.
