NAMSAI, Dec 26: The Namsai district Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) distributed 1250 quail chicks along with feed and medicine to 10 beneficiaries from Kaisu, Enten, Naputia, Mahaloni, Kungsung, and Namsai villages on Tuesday.
Informing that the initiative is a first of its kind in the district, KVK Senior Scientist, Dr Debasis Sasmal, encouraged the beneficiaries to also take advantage of training, demonstration, etc, programmes organised by the KVK from time to time.
“Quails are easy to rear, consume less feed, grow fast, mature early, lay a good number of eggs, and contain high-quality meat,” Dr Sasmal said.
Animal Science SMS, Dr BKD Borah, informed the beneficiaries about breeding, feeding, and management of quails.
