CHANGLANG, Jan 8: The district level Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy for Football and Volleyball (Men & Women) tournament was kicked off by Deputy Commissioner Wayong Khimhun here at the general ground on Monday.
The inaugural match was played between home team Changlang North assembly constituency and Changlang South assembly constituency, which the latter won by a lone goal scored in extra time.
Earlier, the deputy commissioner highlighted how the government intends to produce quality national players through the Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy.
Changlang North ZPM Marina Kenglang urged all to maintain good health and to stay away from unhealthy substances, while District Sports Officer Kumar Doka presented a brief on the origin of the tournament. (DIPRO).
