ITANAGAR, Jan 9: The Abo Tani Clan Organization (ATCO) has called off its proposed bandh on 10 January after receiving assurance from the chief minister that the state government would meet its demands.
In a release, the organization on Tuesday claimed that the chief minister assured to meet its demand for the creation of a Department of Abo Tani Traditional and Culture Affairs; shifting the NHPC office from Guwahati to Itanagar within a week; and withdrawing all the cases registered against the president, the general secretary and the executive members of the ATCO.
It, however, said it would resume its democratic movement in the event that the state government fails to come good on its assurance within a week.
