ITANAGAR, Jan 11: Governor Dr BD Mishra on Thursday participated on the third day of the series of cleanliness drives being conducted in the capital by the Raj Bhavan.
Themed ‘Hamara Elan Swachhta aur Nari Utthan’, today’s drive was held from Akashdeep to the state transport station, and through to the Hanuman temple in Ganga Market area.
Home Secretary GS Meena, along with teams from the Raj Bhavan, the Itanagar Municipal Council and NGOs also joined the governor in the cleanliness drive.
The governor said that the vendors who use the area owe it to the people to keep their surroundings clean.
He advised the vendors to clean their stands daily, and to keep a dustbin at hand for storing wastes in one place for disposal by garbage trucks.
The governor earlier also advised the state transport station officials to keep the station clean, and advised them to set up better waiting facilities for the commuters. (PRO to Raj Bhavan)
