ITANAGAR, Jan 13: Arunachal Pradesh Governor BD Mishra has greeted all the citizens of the state on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, Pongal and Magh Bihu.
On the festive occasion, he extended his felicitations to the Tamils and Assamese brethren living and serving in the state in various responsibilities and expressed hope that the festivity will promote love and harmony amongst all.
In his message, the Governor said that ‘Makar Sankranti has a special significance for us in Arunachal Pradesh. On this day many devotees and pilgrims from various parts of our country visit Parasuram Kund in Lohit District. I offer my prayer for safe and secure pilgrimage to all at the Holy Parasuram Kund’, the Governor said.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu also extended greetings on the occasion of Magh Bihu and Makar Sankranti.
In his message, the chief minister wished the people from Assam on the occasion of ‘Magh Bihu’ also known as ‘Bhogali Bihu’ that marks the end of harvesting season. He further hoped that the celebration would usher in a new year of happiness, peace and prosperity for all. (PRO to Governor/CMO)
