ITANAGAR, Jan 25: The All East Kameng District Students’ Union in a memorandum to the director of secondary education (DSE) on Thursday demanded immediate cancellation of the transfer order issued to PGT teacher RC Rai to GHSS Namsai, and appealed to the DSE to direct the teacher to join his post at GHSS Seijosa at the earliest.
The union claimed that the teacher was transferred from GHSS Doimukh to GHSS Seijosa in August 2017, but he did not join his duties there till the end of August. However, in the meantime, the office of the DSE issued the transfer order for him to join GHSS Namsai on 1 December, it said.
It questioned the department’s move to transfer the teacher to Namsai without verifying the fact that the teacher has not even joined his duties at GHSS Seijosa, and threatened to resort to democratic action if its demand is not met.
