DAPORIJO, Jan 29: Over 120 trainees attended a ‘skill training programme under EST&P’ (a component of the Deendayal Antodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihood Mission) here in Upper Subansiri district on Monday.
Addressing the participants, Deputy Commissioner Danish Ashraf urged them to make the most of the training and implement what they learn in order to become self-reliant.
DUDA Deputy Director Teri Tanya highlighted the objective behind the training in ‘beauty parlour and mobile repairing’, while skill training partner chairperson Topu Basar Ete spoke on the ‘mode of the vocational training and job placement for the trainees.’
Earlier, local MLA Dikto Yekar distributed hearing aids, walking sticks, wheelchairs, etc, to persons with disabilities during a ‘diagnostic-cum-free distribution of aids and appliances’ programme which was held the same day at Singik Hall here. The programme was sponsored by the Social Justice and Empowerment and Tribal Affairs department, in collaboration with the district administration. (DIPRO)
