SAGALEE, Jan 31: A series of block level orientation programmes -cum-interaction programmes on meet with expert was held at various villages of Sagalee, including Dakte Hoj of Toru circle, Mepsoro, Kheel, Karoi, Sagalee Town, Leporiang, Mengio and Tamang village of Ompuli, which concluded on 30 January last.
The programme was jointly conducted by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) of Papum Pare district and department of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Dairy Development, GoAP.
The KVK has also promoted 18 farmers’ club under the sponsorship of the Itanagar NABARD in 18 villages of the Sagalee subdivision of Papum Pare district.
During the training, farmers were acquainted with scientific know-how in agri-allied sectors, centrally sponsored schemes, financial linkages with bank, book keeping, etc by the subject experts of the KVK scientific team.
Method demonstration on improved package of practices (training and pruning of orange orchard and soil sample collection for soil health card) and diagnostic visits on pest and disease of plants and animals were also made by the KVK team at the farmers’ field.
