DAPORIJO, Feb 1: Over 120 trainees participated in a skill development programme organised under the EST&P component of the Antodaya Yojana at a hotel here in Upper Subansiri district last Monday.
DUDA Deputy Director Teri Tanya informed that the participants would be trained in setting up beauty parlours and mobile repairing units, while skill training chairperson Topu Basar Ete briefed the participants on the mode of the vocational training and job placement.
Deputy Commissioner Danish Ashraf, who earlier inaugurated the programme, urged the trainees to apply what they learn from the training to earn their livelihood.
On the same day, local MLA Dikto Yekar distributed tools and appliances like hearing aids, walking sticks and wheelchairs to persons with disabilities during a programme organised at Singik Hall here by the Social Justice & Tribal Affairs department, in collaboration with the district administration.
