YUPIA, Feb 6: A consultation meeting with all the heads of departments and administrative officers was held here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Papum Pare Deputy Commissioner Tai Kaye to discuss the preparatory work for Budget 2018-19 of the district.
Kaye advised the participants to come up with development-oriented preparations for the budget. He also took stock of the current status of the education department, including its preparedness for the state board exams.
He asked the DDSE and the administrative officer concerned to ensure proper implementation of smart classrooms, and to make all the defunct schools in the district functional again.
Taking serious note that food grain has not been supplied to Tarraso circle, the DC directed the civil supply department to ensure that food items are delivered to the circle on time, and warned of strict action against the suppliers if they fail to do so.
He asked the department to inform the DC and the SP immediately if they face problems in transportation of food items via Assam.
SP Tumme Amo pointed out the hardship faced by the police personnel due to unavailability of ration items in remote areas of Tarasso, and suggested that the department maintain a buffer stock in Tarasso before the onset of monsoon season.
DMO Dr Tasso Kampu Subu appealed to the HoDs and administrative officials to cooperate in proper implementation of the measles-rubella vaccination campaign.
She also sought the administration’s assistance in making the Yupia dispensary functional.
The DDSE informed that 34 schools have been selected in the district for introducing smart classrooms, and that they are successfully underway.
The HoDs and SDOs presented the status of schemes being implemented by their departments, and apprised the DC of the shortcomings.
Various schemes and programmes, including central and state government schemes, along with ideas for the budget, new projects, completion of ongoing projects, etc, were discussed during the meeting. (DIPRO)
