AALO, Feb 6: Host West Siang lifted the second State level Hangpan Dada Memorial Women’s Football Trophy, beating Kra Daadi 1-0 via penalty shootout in the final at Kamba, not far from here, on Tuesday.
The match went to tie-breaker after both the teams were locked 0-0 in the regulation time.
Interestingly, none of the players from both the teams, barring Yati Yorung of West Siang, could convert their spot kicks.
Sports & Youth Affairs Parliamentary Secretary Nyamar Karbak, Yomcha ZPM Yiyom Yomcha, Sports Authority of Arunachal vice chairman Gechi Doke, and departmental heads of West Siang witnessed the match.
The men’s football final match, to be played between Lower Subansiri and Changlang on 7 February, will mark the end of the second edition of the Hangpan Dada Memorial Tournament. (DIPRO)
