ITANAGAR, Feb 9: The Arunachal Tribal Contractor Welfare Association submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday, urging him to submit and debate in the upcoming state assembly session the matter of revoking the Arunachal Pradesh District Based Entrepreneurs and Professional (Incentives, Development and Professional) Act 2015.
The association termed the Act detrimental to the interests of upcoming entrepreneurs of the state.
‘If young entrepreneurs are not allowed to participate in the tender process within Arunachal Pradesh, how would they gain work experience to compete in national and international levels of tender bidding?’ it sought to know.
It sought introduction of work order system for upto Rs 1 crore for budding entrepreneurs of the state, and also demanded awarding of contract work to indigenous contractors and firms only.
The association also appealed to the state government to entertain schemes prepared and submitted by work departments of state, like the PWD, RWD, PHED, and others.
