ZIRO, Feb 16: Lower Subansiri district BJP president Tilling Dolley has condemned the recent statement made by the Lower Subansiri District Congress Committee (DCC), and accused the DCC of levelling unfounded allegation against MoS for Home Kiren Rijiju and local MLA Tage Taki.
In a release, the district BJP president said on Friday that the two representatives have been tirelessly working for all-round development of the area.
“Getting Rs 11 crore sanctioned by the central government for maintenance of the road from Potin to Ziro was an achievement of the two leaders. When this fund was placed at the disposal of the state’s highway department, it prepared the DPR for maintenance of the segment from Potin to the entry of Ziro at Pai Gate through RO Guwahati.
The road length was restricted as per the fund provision. The reason for restriction is available with the highway department’s executive engineer, and anyone can get the details. Even so, Rs 1 crore was sanctioned by the state government for maintenance of roads in Ziro during 2015-16, which was utilized for maintenance of the Hapoli-Ziro road also,” Dolley said.
He said the Congress party should refrain from instigating the landowners from going to the courts over the compensation issue, “which is the main factor for delay in highway construction.”
