ITANAGAR, Feb 17: Block development officers (BDOs) from 11 districts participated in a two-day state level workshop on ‘Good governance and universalisation of electronic fund management system (e-FMS) for effective administration and implementation of MGNREGA’, which concluded at the SIRD conference hall here on Saturday.
The workshop was conducted jointly by the SIRD & PR and the rural development department.
During the inaugural function on Friday, SIRD Director Nyali Ete explained the importance of good governance and e-FMS under the MGNREGA, and suggested to the BDOs to “generate committed person days as per the approval of the gram sabha and upload in MIS with target.”
Explaining the objective of the two-day workshop, SIRD AD SW Bagang informed that the four indicative frameworks – job cards, case records, citizen information board, and seven registers – are the key to successfully implementing the MGNREGA.
“It will also act as a panacea for repeated RTI information seekers and will be useful for programme officers at the time of social audit, other financial audit, monitoring and evaluation, etc,” he said.
Rural Development Director Kankar Dolum, MGNREGA Programme Officer Sanjiv Das and SIRD Deputy Director Dr VK Sharma also spoke.
