ZIRO, Feb 21: A number of National Service Scheme (NSS) related activities were conducted at Saint Claret College (SCCZ) here from 15 to 20 February.
A four-day training programme on life skills, leadership and personality development was conducted from 15 to 18 February by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, GoI and Regional Directorate of NSS, Guwahati, in collaboration with Arunodaya University, Itanagar.
About 40 students were engaged in training sessions and numerous group activities by resource persons, including the Vice Chancellor of Arunodaya University, Itanagar, Dr VN Sharma, Department of Commerce, DNGC, Itanagar, Prof SK Sharma, HK Sharma from Regional Directorate of NSS, Guwahati and NSS Program Officer Rajen Sonar.
A two day special camp was also conducted at Hija village, wherein cleanliness drives and awareness campaigns were organized on 17 to 18 February.
On 20 February, the NSS volunteers interacted with the residents of Mothers’ Home, an NGO which runs a care home for mentally challenged and other differently-able persons.
