PANGIN, Feb 25: Siang district Deputy Commissioner Rahul Singh held an urgent coordination meeting on Sunday regarding the proposed 72 hour bandh from 26-28 Februarycalled by the public of Pangin area and urged them to call off the bandh.
The need for immediate and speedy infrastructure development in the area, including construction of buildings for general administration at the earliest was the main demand of the bandh callers, reports the DIPRO in-charge.
The DC, while giving assurance to the public representatives to immediately take up the matter with higher authorities on priority, urged them to call off the bandh.
Stating that infrastructure developments have been taking place and buildings of WRD, PHED, APEDA office, office of DD (UD&H), including residential buildings, etc have already been constructed and new buildings have also been added to the DC office complex, he assured them of pursuing the matter raised by the bandh callers to the best of his ability.
Stating that such bandhs cause huge inconvenience to both the administration and public, the DC urged them not to create any law and order problem or indulge in destruction of government property as such activities are highly detrimental for the people and the district.
Seeking cooperation from the members present, he appealed to them to help allay all fears and misunderstanding of the public and urged them not to be misled by rumours and false stories.
The meeting was attended by Pangin ADC Tamik Talom, other administrative officers from the district, PRI members and prominent public leaders of the concerned area. (DIPRO in-charge)
