AALO Feb 26: Many artifacts were treated for preservation by a conservation team from the museum section of the Directorate of Research, Itanagar, during two separate workshops on conservation and preservation of cultural artifacts conducted at the Samten Yangcha Monastery at Mechuka and Aalo Museum here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, District Research Officer, Tapoli Badung disclosed that rich varieties of ethnic art are dwindling due to want of upkeep, while many manuscripts in the monastery at Mechuka are also in need of conservation treatments.
The team, which was led by N Roy, Omak Darin and Anil Dutta, informed that they also created awareness among locals and monks about various preventive methods to save old artifacts. (DIPRO)
