East Kameng reviews progress of various sectors in the district

SEPPA, Mar 14: The District Consultative Committee (DCC), District Level Review Committee (DLRC) and District Level Security Committee meeting was held in a single sitting here on Wednesday under the chairmanship of East Kameng Deputy Commissioner Gaurav Singh Rajawat.
In his address, the DC, while enquiring about the manpower position and banking coverage in the district, directed the SBI branch manager of Seppa to activate all five service centres by 31st May next.
In order to minimize rush in the banks, particularly in the SBI, Seppa, the DC suggested the branch manager concerned to keep all ATM booths functional 24/7.
He further directed the SBI branch manager of Seppa to identify a temporary shed by 30 March and start operating additional SBI branchs temporarily till the construction of allotted building. He also urged the bank to clear all pending applications regarding installation of PoS machines.
The DC also stressed on financial literacy camps at regular intervals and requested the bankers and government officials to disseminate information about the advantages of being connected to banks and cashless transaction.
Enquiring about the status of schemes under priority sector, the DC has directed the bank concerned to clear all pending applications.
Regarding DBT, DC Rajawat has urged the bank branches to complete 100 percent aadhaar seeding by 30th March next and directed to submit weekly reports.
On NPA issue, he suggested for fixing of a target for recovery and filing of litigation for initiating appropriate action under Bakijai.
Briefing on the achievements and progress, LDM S Ranjit Singh expressed satisfaction with the overall performance in terms of CDR of the district up to the quarter ending December 2017, which is 67.87 percent.
He informed that both deposit and advances and priority sector lending are showing positive trend as per ACP 2017-18.
Further, he requested the government departments to play pro-active roles and forward proposals, if any, granted under relevant government schemes, to respective bank branches for necessary action.
Progress of various government sponsored schemes, including PMEGP, KCC, NULM, PMMY (MUDRA Scheme), PM social security schemes, PM Start Up India scheme were also reviewed in the meeting.
SP Vikas Kumar, ADC D J Borah, bank branch managers and HoOs were also present and took part in the discussion.
