RAGA, Mar 14: Claiming that the Government Higher Secondary School, Raga does not have a commerce stream despite being the oldest institute of the region, the All Kamle District Students’ Union (AKDSU) has in a representation to the Director of Secondary Education, Itanagar on Wednesday, appealed to him to initiate early steps for introduction of commerce stream from the next academic session.
The union has also sought early posting of Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) for History, Accountancy and Business Studies in the said school.
“Due to the absence of commerce stream, students are compelled to get admissions in other schools of the district. Department of Education, GoAP vide its order no. ED.3/130/2008-09 dated Itanagar, Feb 14, 2013 accorded administrative approval to notify for introduction of commerce stream at GHSS, Raga as approved by the State Planning Board and reflected in the AOP 2012-13 under Scheme No. 16- Introduction of Commerce Stream. But, so far, the department has failed to accord finance concurrence to get sanction thereof”, it claimed.
