Bandh deferred

ITANAGAR, Mar 17: The All Arunachal Pradesh Youth Forum (AAPYF) has deferred its proposed 36 hours capital bandh on Monday.
The AAPYF had declared a bandh demanding immediate cancellation of land allotment given to the Deori tribe, cancellation of land allotment to non-APSTs and early execution of the green field airport.
The forum deferred the bandh stating that students appearing in the CBSE examinations have been pressurizing them to defer it as it would affect the students.
It further stated they had called on Home Minister Kumar Waii and discussed on the matter.
Earlier, Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan had declared the proposed bandh illegal. The district administration also gave directives to all the government institutions, including schools as well as business houses and petrol depots to remain open during the bandh period.
Subsequently, the district administration convened a meeting involving the Transport federation and market welfare committee to defy the bandh.
