BOASIMLA, Mar 22: A good number of mithuns (gayal) were vaccinated against various diseases during the mithun mela cum vaccination camp organized here in Kamle district on Thursday.
In addition, microchips were implanted in mithun bodies for easy identification of animals by the owners.
Earlier, in his inaugural address, MLA cum Parliamentary Secretary Tamar Murtem advised the villagers to preserve and stop unnecessary killing of this rare and endangered state animal.
