Strive for all-round development: Tashi

KITPI, Mar 30: Tawang MLA Tsering Tashi has exhorted the people of Kitpi and Jamkhar panchayat segments to strive for social, cultural and economic progress of the region.
Attending a ‘developmental meeting’ for Kitpi and Jamkhar panchayat segments, in the final leg of his tour of his constituency, at the secondary school here on 29 March, the MLA urged the locals to support infrastructure development programmes and donate land for progressive projects. He also emphasized on quality execution of projects.
He underlined the need for preservation of the Monpa heritage, and also stressed on mass enrollment of children in schools “for uplifting the educational scenario of the region.”
Urging the youths to refrain from hankering after government jobs, Tashi advised them to toil hard and excel in academics and competitive exams.
“Only a literate society with bright, brilliant and insightful youths will ward off unemployment and help in our infrastructure development programmes, which in turn will boost commercial and general economic activities in the region,” he said.
Responding to memorandums submitted by the panchayat leaders and village heads of the two segments, he gave assurance that he would address the issues in phases.
Earlier, in the morning, Tashi inaugurated the Tengthin monastery, while Rev Rikya Lhavoe Rinpoche consecrated the gompa in Thengthin village in Kitpi circle.
Tawang DC Sang Phuntso, district BJP president Sange Chodup, Kitpi ZPM Sherap, HoDs, and panchayat members also attended the function. (Tawang Vigilance)
