LEKANG, Apr 2: Namsai KVK Head In-charge Dr Debasis Sasmal on Monday organised a three-day hands-on training programme on ‘Functioning of incubator’ for the farmers at Mahaloni village in Lekang circle, with support from the Basar (Siang)-based ICAR-RC for NEH Region.
Sponsored under the Tribal Sub Plan, the training – introduced for the first time in the district – was aimed at making quality chicks available to the farmers.
Dr Sasmal urged the trainees to avail the benefit and develop model quail and poultry farms, saying such farms are easy to maintain and economic, and, if operated properly, can create entrepreneurship at the village level.
