NAHARLAGUN, Apr 10: The People’s Party of Arunachal Pradesh (PPA) celebrated its 41st foundation day in a befitting manner here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, party chairman Kamen Ringu said the ruling BJP government at Centre has not performed better than the Congress-led UPA government.
He said the PPA will maintain equidistance from both the BJP and the Congress, and appealed to the youths to embrace the regional party for all-round development of the state.
“If necessary, we will contest all the 60 seats,” he asserted.
PPA president Kahfa Bengia said the PPA is the only alternative to the BJP and the Congress in the state. He appealed to likeminded people and well-wishers to join the regional party for the sake of the welfare of the people of state.
Group discussions on several issues concerning the state were held on the occasion.
Earlier in the morning, the leaders paid floral tributes to the portraits of former leaders of the party.
Former MLA Dugi Tajik also attended the programme.
