NAHARLAGUN, Apr 30: Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) dealership Iconic Automobiles undertook various activities from 23-30 April to mark the National Road Safety Week.
Over the week, the dealership invited the police to organize a road safety awareness programme for its staff, conducted a driver education programme, created awareness among school children through a drawing competition, and handed out pamphlets and roses to motorists in the capital complex.
It also took out an awareness rally from Nirjuli to Naharlagun.
“Mahindra is committed to make India’s roads safer. Today, most accidents are caused due to drivers’negligence and improper road etiquette. It is our responsibility to educate people about road safety,”M&M customer care manager Tapash Gayan said.
Members of the Wildlife and Green Sisters Society also distributed pamphlets on road safety among commuters in and around the capital complex on Saturday as part of the Road Safety Week.
Capital Complex Motor Vehicle Inspector Tania Soni, who took part in the activity, advised commuters to become aware of the Motor Vehicle Act and to obey traffic rules.
